I consider my audience both my colleagues and future schools I will work at. This program is helping me develop my methods and objectives as a teacher. My project should speak to how envision creating a classroom that is accessible to all kinds of learners. ( I would like to note here that I saw a reference to this in the Clark reading, which pleased me immensely. Clark discusses that one should use a variety of media in their trainings, as this is more effective [Clark 19]).
The kind of resource I want to create is one that can be used by my colleagues to re-invent how they design lessons for their classroom. The readings this week go a long way towards helping me conceptualize that idea so that I can make it more concrete for my capstone. I am playing with the idea of using Clark as a format, creating a training manual on how to build a Universal Design Lesson Plan. Walk my colleagues through the design process and help them visualize how it could be used in their own classroom. A Universal Design Lesson is simpler to design than a traditional Differentiated lesson and, I believe, more effective. It could be a very valuable resource.

I can't wait to read your manual about how to create a Universal Design Lesson. My project is about differentiating in the classroom using a modified flipped lesson, and I'm spending an inordinate amount of time creating multiple differentiated lessons for the diversity of learners in my class. The idea of a UDL sounds great for my students and for me!

I highlighted your comments about the ISD because that was important to me as well. It seems very work intensive to have evaluations at every step though. I wonder if this process could be streamlined a bit- to make it more practical to implement. I realize that having 1 group of 30 or so students is one situation, and then 3-4 groups of 30 or so students, but then 5 groups of 30 or so students is pretty overwhelming. I think implementing one class at a time might be workable.

It sounds like your thoughts around your capstone project are starting to come together and making more sense in your mind. I also noted in Clark's reading about the use of a variety of media, but what also struck me was that " no one medium is better than another as long as it can carry the required methods." (pg 21) This seems important that the focus should be on the lesson design vs finding the "magic technological bullet" that will be a one size fits all solution.

I applaud your efforts and desire to create a universal design lesson. For me, that would seem overwhelming, because even though all great lessons contain certain aspects that make them successful, there's so many different types of lessons, that it seems daunting to think that one design could cover them all.
